Winter Wonderland-Donard

Once again this year Santa is making a return visit to the village of Donard.  Last year, despite the snow, he was delighted that so many children came to visit him and hopes to see even more this year. Even though he comes to the Wicklow Hills for some rest before the big rush at Christmas he loves to take time out to meet lots of children and have a chat with them.

The Winter Wonderland at Moat Farm, Donard will be open for 3 Sundays in December, the 4th, 11th and 18th from 2pm to 6pm. Santa will make a grand entrance each day in his special Santa mobile at 2pm.  He will be available all afternoon to talk to the children.

While waiting to see Santa there is lots to do and see including face painting and visiting the animals including one of Santa’s special reindeet.

The adults wont get bored as there will be arts, crafts and food stalls, a good chance to pick up some presents while enjoying the atmosphere.

Fresh Christmas Trees will also be available.  Adults can relax beside a roaring fire and enjoy all that the Winter Wonderland experience has to offer. No bookings required and there is ample free car parking available.

Admission aor children is 10 euro which includes a present from Santa and a family photo with the man himself will cost 5 euro, however you also welcome to bring your own camera to capture the moment.  There is no admission charge for adults.

All proceeds from the Winter Wonderland go to Donoughmore and Donard Parish and the community based Donard Glen Daycare.

Crafts Wanted

Stalls are available in the Winter Wonderland in Donard for any crafts person wishing to find an outlet for their produce.  Stalls are available for any or all of the days from 2 to 6pm, daily.  This is a great opportunity to showcase local crafts.

Country Market

A country market is held in Davidstown old school every Sunday from 11am to 1.30pm. Do come along and enjoy a cuppa while you peruse the large selection of arts, crafts, organic fruit and vegetables, home baking, free range eggs and much more.

Set Dancing

Set dancing is starting in Donard Hall every Monday Night from 8.30 to 10.30 from Monday 6th September. We would be thrilled to see many many newcomers amongst us for relaxation, craic, enjoyment, fitness and of course our very own culture of set-dance, so consider yourselves invited to join in the fun.
